Don’t Be Late
This is true for any job in any industry. Arriving a few minutes early starts the interview on a good note and will show the person that you are interviewing with that you value their time.

Dress For Success
Does the saying “Dress for the job you want, not the job you have,” sound familiar? No matter what kind of job you are interviewing for, make sure you dress in a way that shows you are a professional to make a good first impression.

Keep Calm And Stay Confident
Even if it’s your first job interview or you are nervous, take a deep breath and answer the questions honestly. Remember that an interview is really just a conversation to see if you are a good fit for the company and can perform the job they have open.

Be Prepared
Take some time to see what common interview questions are and practice what kind of responses you would give. Open questions like “Tell me about yourself,” or “What do you know about our company?” are very common and not having a few words to start off with can throw you off of your game.

Be Aware Of Your Body Language
Sitting with your arms crossed in front of you can make you appear closed off or angry. Twirling your thumbs or playing with your hair make you look nervous. Sit up straight and fold your hands in your lap or on the table to make sure you come across friendly and not distracting.

Ask Questions
Make sure you review the job description to the job you have applied for carefully and think through anything that you may have questions on. Arriving to an interview with a question or two will show the interviewer that you are engaged and are making an effort to truly understand what the job entails.
