Preparing For A Photo Shoot

Modeling

When you have a photo shoot scheduled, you’ll want to make sure you start getting ready a few days before! We’ve put together a list of things that you should do to make sure that you are ready to go and looking your best before you arrive at a photoshoot.\r\n

    \r\n

  • Drink a lot of water and watch what you eat.\r\nYes, you should probably do this most days, but it is especially important to stay well-hydrated starting a few days before your photo shoot. You’ll also want to avoid greasy, spicy or salty foods for a few days.
  • \r\n

  • Clean skin and nails.\r\nRemove all products and makeup from your face and use a gentle exfoliator the morning of your photo shoot. Essentially, you’ll want to arrive with your face and skin as a clean slate for the makeup artist. Also, be sure that you are not wearing any color nail polish to your shoot. Clear polish or a french manicure are the only acceptable nail treatments unless the photographer or client has said otherwise.
  • \r\n

  • Touch up your hair a few days before.\r\nIf you color your hair, you’ll want to be sure that you don’t have dark roots showing in the photos. Be sure to color your hair the same color the client is expecting your hair to be and that you do so a few days before the shoot so that it has time to even out or tone down. Additionally, if you wax your eyebrows you will want to do this a few days before the photoshoot to let the dry wax wash off and so your skin is not red and irritated.
  • \r\n

  • Even out tan lines.\r\nIf you have sleeve lines and they will be visible in the photos, you may want to consider evening out your tan a week or two before your photo shoot. Beware of spray tans though since they often they don’t look natural in the pictures and may show steaks.
  • \r\n

  • Moisturize.\r\nApply Vaseline to your lips the night before a photo shoot to wake up with soft lips. Also use a mild moisturizer on your body the day of a photo shoot to keep your skin looking and feeling its best.
