arbizon alum Jillian Powers was featured on a local TV show called Topic Time, which airs on the Raynham Channel in Massachusetts. Jillian’s episode is about breaking into the modeling industry and she discusses her training with Barbizon. Jillian graduated from Barbizon of Boston in October 2014. She competed in the Barbizon Competition 2015 in D.C. and signed with Alexis Crystal Stevenson Modeling Agency.
How was your Barbizon experience? Overall I gained so much confidence from Barbizon. I was never one to be in front of a crowd and I didn’t think I had it in me to get in front a small one; let alone walk the runway and say a 15 second TV commercial for a crowd of over a thousand people at the Barbizon Competition in D.C. I did it and I am so glad I did.
What agency are you represented by?Right now I am signed with ACSMA (Alexis Crystal Stevenson Modeling Agency). I also have interviews with Profile Models, Kids International, and also Guy Management.
Do you have any advice for current Barbizon students?The advice I would give students is to get out of your comfort zone and have fun with it! There is a great quote that says it all:
“Life always begins with one step outside of your comfort zone.” Shannon L. Alder
