When you land a role for a commercial, you’ll want to be sure you set yourself up for success. We have a few tips to make sure your first commercial shoot goes smoothly!\r\n\r\nWardrobe\r\n\r\nWardrobe is usually provided so you may be called in for a fitting. Normally, though, the person in charge of wardrobe will have been given your sizes by your agency and there will be several outfits there to be chosen from. Be as helpful as possible by bringing in anything you think they might need to complete your look.\r\n\r\nMemorization\r\n\r\nDon’t make the mistake of not memorizing your part. When you show up on the set, know the script from start to finish. An actor has a certain confidence when he or she knows that the lines are memorized letter-perfect. You’ll be better prepared to handle detailed blocking, complicated moves and end-of-the-day fatigue.\r\n\r\nShooting Day\r\n\r\nGet the best night’s sleep possible and leave yourself plenty of time to get to the shoot so you don’t get frazzled because of a traffic jam. There are no excuses for being late.\r\n\r\nMake sure you have everything you need for the day. You’ll need whatever wardrobe you’re been asked to bring, and your script. Eat a good breakfast before leaving and stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.\r\n\r\nWorking On Set\r\n\r\nWork hard, be friendly and respectful. Remember that the one in charge is the Director. Any questions you have about staging or delivery should be aimed at the Director. This is an unspoken rule on the set so that the actor will not get conflicting information.
