\r\nIf you are new to the modeling industry, you probably have a lot of questions about what modeling is really like and how working in the industry might impact your current lifestyle. Location questions specifically are top of mind for new models who want to know how often they will be required to travel when working in the industry. How much do models really have to travel? Unfortunately, it’s not a simple answer and every situation is different.\r\n\r\nTravel depends on various details about the model and the type of work he or she is looking to do. A commercial model working in a small market will likely have far fewer travel requirements than a high fashion model who is signed with a major agency in New York.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, travel can be dependent on how in demand the model is. Some of the world’s top supermodels spend much of their time traveling all over the world to work in different locations and for different clients however this is not common for every model.\r\n\r\nRelocation is something many models consider when starting out in the industry. There is opportunity for models all over the world, however certain types of modeling (and this is also true for certain types of acting) have many more opportunities for growth and success in major markets like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago or Miami. Be sure to consider your options and personal goals for your modeling career if you are trying to determine if you are willing to relocate.\r\n\r\nFor high fashion and runway models specifically, you should also keep in mind that agencies will occasionally send their models abroad to work in Europe or Asia to gain experience and to build a model portfolio.\r\n\r\nIf you are wondering about the travel requirements of being a model, remember that models are needed everywhere. Travel depends on your individual goals and what kind of a modeling career you are looking to build.\r\n\r\ndivline\r\n\r\nTo learn more about how you can break into the modeling industry, schedule an audition at your nearest Barbizon Modeling and Acting school.\r\n\r\nSchedule Your Barbizon Audition\r\n\r\n
